To provide personal care to people living in their own homes. This involves washing and dressing them, preparing simple meals, assisting them to the toilet, helping them to get ready for bed, prompting medication, household cleaning occasionally, shopping, accompanying clients on visits outside their homes, collecting prescriptions from the doctor.
Equipment required: Equipment (uniforms, gloves, aprons) to do the job is provided but transport is essential. Must drive a car or ride a bicycle.
Accommodation: Subsidised accommodation is available.
Travel Costs: This is included in the rate of pay.
Minimum Salary: £6.85 per hour
Hours per week: Up to forty hours per week
Experience Required: Empathy with older people and people needing help with daily living. Training up to NVQ level provided
