Web editor CEE Bankwatch Network, one of the longest established environmental NGO networks in central and eastern Europe, is currently seeking a highly motivated website editor to join our expanding media team and help support the network's campaign and policy work.
We offer the chance to work on a diverse and dynamic range of activities with huge implications for people and the environment in central and eastern Europe and beyond.
Candidates should ideally meet all of the following criteria: • Highly motivated, with relevant experience of maintaining and developing at least one organisation's website; • Excellent communication skills - a key function of the job will be liaising with our member groups and staff based in 15 countries; • Bilingual or native level of written and spoken English; • Knowledge of open-source software and content management systems, and aptitude for boosting an organisation's online campaigning presence; • An active interest in following the latest developments in web technology and web 2.0 trends; • A proven ability to work in a team, excellent time management, reliability and experience working in an inter-cultural office, and/or in a multicultural organisation; • Willing to travel. In addition, the following skills and experience would be advantageous: • An excellent sense of design as well as web design skills (including Flash); • Strong editing skills and experience in writing for the web; • Some knowledge of programming (JavaScript). This is a full-time position, based in one of Bankwatch's offices across central and eastern Europe, subject to a three month trial period. We offer a salary that is competitive for the non-profit sector in the region.
